"Very ripe and close to late harvest in tone but so loaded in fruit that it never crosses over the line from table uses to a wine more suited to post-prandial enjoyment, this generously stuffed, very full-bodied bottling is going to find enthusiastic takers among those who like their Zins on the big side. Both acid and tannin make themselves known towards the finish, and this is one that we would age a few years." 92 Points

2006 Zinfandel Tofanelli Vineyards
This small block of 60 year-old vines just south of Calistoga seems to bring out the most of what makes Zinfandel so charming. The wine's dark color is immediately appealing. The wild berry aroma, with a touch of licorice and herbs, makes you want to begin pouring. The 2006 Tofanelli Zinfandel set a new 'length of fermentation' record at Neyers, taking almost 17 months to ferment to dryness. The result is one of the most complex, and attractive wines we've ever bottled. It's rich and juicy. There's an underlying sauvage character that, as the French would say, completes the wine. We think this little beauty holds great promise.
