"Compact and concentrated blackberry fruit...supported by creamy rich oak and complexing hints of currants. Mouthfilling but never heavy, ripe without resort to desiccation and surprisingly well-polished for a wine of its size, this one is about as good as it gets in wines of its genre, and its balance will keep it healthy for years to come." 91 Points

2005 Zinfandel Tofanelli Vineyard
Vince and Pauline Tofanelli enjoyed a splendid crop from these 50 year-old Zinfandel vines in 2005. While the yield was smaller than normal, the long hang time resulted in perfectly ripened fruit -- small berries of near-ideal sugar/acid balance that were bursting with flavor. The wine is dark and intense -- the way we like Zinfandel to be -- and there's an engaging spicy component that makes it particularly attractive to drink now.
